About us

A place that combines the joy of dance
with first class technical skills

Hello, I’m Amanda, Founder and Principal of Dancemania Dance Company.

When I founded Dancemania, I wanted to create a dance school with a unique environment. A place that combined the sheer joy of dance with first class technical skills. A place where individual dancers, from absolute beginners to those seeking a career in the performing arts, could develop themselves in a caring, non-judgemental environment.

Twenty-nine years later, Dancemania is one of the longest standing dance schools in Oxfordshire — and we have stayed true to that founding vision. Highly trained staff. Limited class sizes. A love of dance at the heart of what we do.

We offer every dance discipline, along with gymnastics, acro and modelling courses. Accredited examinations with the British Theatre Dance Association are available in most disciplines, and we are proud to have seen our students go on to gain places at performing arts schools including Italia Conti, Trinity Laban, Performers and Body Works.

We offer large discounts for multiple classes, because dance training should be something a family can actually afford. Our training covers posture, stamina, flexibility, self-expression, performance and social skills — and our aim is to bring the joy of dance to the absolute beginner while offering real training to those who want to pursue it as a career.

Our students feel part of our family. I would love to welcome you to our school, and to help you flourish as a dancer.

Best wishes,
Amanda Paton

More than just dance

Every child is different

For almost thirty years I have had the privilege of teaching children to dance. Over those years I have learnt something very important: every child is different.

Every dancer has their own personality, confidence level, strengths, challenges and way of learning. That is why, at Dancemania, we do not believe in simply teaching every child in exactly the same way.

We watch.
We listen.
We encourage.
We adapt.

Sometimes a child needs an extra little bit of confidence. Sometimes they need to be challenged. Sometimes they need patience. And sometimes they simply need someone to believe in them.

One of the things I am most proud of is watching our dancers grow over the years. We have students who join us as little ones and stay right through their school years, eventually heading off to university as confident, capable young people.

And something really special happens along the way. They don’t just learn dance.

They make friendships.
They find their people.
They learn resilience.
They develop confidence.
They learn to perform in front of others.
They celebrate each other’s successes.

They become part of a community — and some of those friendships continue long after their time at Dancemania has finished.

Come and see for yourself
