Pre-School Ballet & Tap
Ages 2–4
A first taste of ballet and tap for our youngest dancers, taught through stories, fairytale music and props — so it feels like play, because at this age it should.
Officially this is our Pre-Preparatory class, for dancers aged two and a half to four and a half. Unofficially it is thirty minutes of fairytales, props and music, with ballet and tap technique folded in where the children do not notice they are learning it.
That is deliberate. At this age the job is not to produce turnout — it is to make a child feel that a dance studio is a happy place to be. The technique has decades to arrive. The love of it starts here.

- Ballet and tap fundamentals introduced through creative movement rather than formal exercises.
- Fairytale music, stories and props to hold a two-year-old's attention and imagination.
- Short, repeatable routines that build coordination, listening and confidence.
- A parent or carer stays with their child in Pre-School classes, so nobody is left at the door before they are ready.
Anything comfortable to move in for the first few weeks. After the first half term we will point you to the correct ballet and tap uniform for the class — there is no need to buy anything before you know your child has settled.
Nothing needs buying before a trial class — come in whatever your dancer can move in comfortably.
